👋 Hello and welcome to ACTION POTENTIAL, a newsletter focused on the latest in healthcare marketing, communications, and the broader landscape – and how that applies to your career. From strategy to tips to counsel, we’ll cover a little of everything here and hope to evolve this newsletter just as quickly as our industry should.

This newsletter will teach you how to be a better practitioner. There is a huge educational gap in our industry right now; outside of having an awesome boss, no one teaches you how to navigate the future. My goal is that I can help be that person for you to empower the current and next generation of healthcare leaders to deliver the best solutions for our peers, for our clients, and for the patients we all serve.

And this newsletter will focus on digital because everything these days is digital. However direct or indirect, the work you’re doing right now is digital. How you’re reading this is digital. How we learn, how we make mistakes, how we grow is digital.

There are a few creators who comment on digital broadly but none specific to healthcare and its many nuances. This newsletter seeks to fill that critical gap. So, hello.

🍰 Who am I?

Currently, I lead the U.S. Digital Team at GCI Health, overseeing dozens of the best in the industry to deliver the best solutions for our clients. For over the past decade, I’ve had the fortune of working for dozens of pharmaceutical and biotech companies, including each of the Top 10 pharma companies by market cap – from Pfizer and J&J to AbbVie and AstraZeneca.

I’ve been fortunate enough to work my way up to an EVP role and at this level I don’t show up just for the work; I show up for the future of my team, my agency, and my industry.

👀 Who is this for?

Whether you work at an agency or at a company, whether you’re in digital or not, whether you’re an entry-level employee or in the C-suite – this newsletter is for everyone working in healthcare. It’s for everyone curious about what’s now and what’s next. Ultimately, this newsletter should be for you – so please let me know what’s working and what isn’t.

I’m excited to already see a few early adopters of folks working in large agencies, independent agencies, pharma, biotech, wellness, and even a few providers!

🧠 Why the name ACTION POTENTIAL?

An action potential is twofold: In neurons, action potentials are how neurons send signals to act - like a message being sent down a wire. College neuroscience classes are what cemented my interest in medicine and health, and I owe it to myself to go back and pay homage to my own “origin story.”

An action potential is also a play on words. The goal of this newsletter is to inspire you, the reader, in taking action to unlock your fullest potential.
